Have you been to CIY: Move ...? If not you should! Such a great time! If you're new to this whole yg thing ... here's how CIY: Move works ... Each day is themed. There is a time in the morning where they intro the theme, we spend time learning about it ... studying it ... celebrating it ... through out the day we do events that help us connect and build relationships to help us understand this theme. You will most def want to come and spend a week at CIY: Move ... cost is $290 with a deposit of $100 to hold your spot. Hope you can come ... see ya soon!

Tuesday follow up ...

What does it mean for you to live as Christ? Would you take time to write that out? Tuesday night we talked about the church and how it works and what it looks like! Awesome stuff ... now let's get specific for our lives ... write out, 25 words or less (yes, there are some rules!!! lol) what does it mean to live as Christ? Bring your thoughts to me ... write them out on facebook, myspace ... etc. Would love to hear!!

The schedule for Summer ...

*Summer study lunches – We’re hanging for lunch and some in-depth study of scripture. Sometimes we’re just hanging and checking in with each other. We’ll meet @ YCC under the gazebo area and eat together. Cost will be $5. Here are the dates we’re meeting: July 8th, 15th, 29th, August 5th.
*June 19th – Friday night … Freshman buddies night out @ Big Cheese
*June 22nd – Braswell’s visit ... plyaing bingo ... starts @2:15
*June 26th – Hurricane Harbor – cost $20 per person plus money for food. Be @YCC @8am ... we're back late that night.
*June 27th – painting @ YAPS. Starts @9am ... meet @ YAPS
*July 11th – San Bernardino with our homeless friends. Heading out @ 10am.
*July 20-25 – CIY: Move ... cost $290 ($100 deposit to hold your spot).
*August 6th – A Day @ Catalina Island. Cost $120 dollars.
*August 7th – G.I. Joe movie
*August 8th – Ronald McDonald House
*August 11th – Last night for Graduated Seniors
*August 12th – Angels Game - $12 plus money for food (afternoon game)

I'll miss ya!

The graduates graduate today!! I’ve been with this group since I started. They were in 5th grade. 8 years with these guys, some came along later and others were there from the beginning. I’ll miss them a lot but it’s time for them to go and grow. I’ll miss Mack coming in every Tuesday (for the last 6 years) and chatting with her. I’ll miss Tyler and Trevor and all our football talk (even though they’re fans of the Cowboys and Dolphins). I’ll miss Lindsey playing bass for us and talking about how cute her baby sister is. I’ll miss Kyle, wait … that’s impossible to miss Kyle … you can’t miss him! I’ll miss Austin and Larry’s insults and talking theology with them … they’re smart!! I’ll miss Molly’s random stops by the office. I’ll miss Aimee’s hellos and Lauren’s beautiful singing voice along with her humility. I’ll miss Beans and now knowing what to expect from him. I’ll miss Kelsey and her compassionate heart. Emily and her willingness to serve you. I’ll miss Jake Tiss cause he’s a Tiss. I’ll miss Kurtis and Kevin cause they’re knuckleheads. I’ll miss Amanda and her huge smile. I’ll miss Elmo and her childlike heart. I’ll miss Veronica and Alex and how they never did anything without each other. I’ll miss Patrick and his friendship. I’ll miss all of them that I didn’t list cause I’m getting older and can’t remember! I love you guys! Thanks for 8 great years together. And Tiss … be good!!

Thoughts that didn't make it up!

So it's been about two weeks ... here’s what’s happening @ JCX:

*Baptisms ... Seth is now a baptized follower of Jesus!
*Teaching ... What is truth? (Jesus Christ), What is spirituality? (being aware of the needs of those around you), What is community? (Laugh, cry, celebrate and carrying God’s vision together)
*New D-groups are connecting and growing together
*Some heavy duty stuff coming up that we must face and journey in.
*Prayer for transformation is being answered and it’s fun but hard as we go through it
*Leaders are always spectacular!
*Dave Whitlock gets hairier everyday!
*Our new leaders (Josh, Jake, Amanda, Ashley) are a blessing to us!
*Events, events, events! Like June 14th … a senior lunch, June 17th AIDS Care Kits, June 26th Hurricane Harbor and July 20th – 25th CIY: Move …
*Parents are fun and we love talking with them

*Our hope is that this summer we live in the love and grace of Jesus much more so that our lives will be a place where others are: loved deeply, encouraged to obedience, and transformed by the power of God
