Salt and Light:
-We started the night with an announcement about how we stole the kickball trophy from FBCY. Um, I mean … I heard it was taken and that there is a possibility of a ransom video coming soon. Here’s the announcement vid:
-Worship through song was awesome! The group (lead by Seth Hunt) focused and belted out the songs from their hearts. We had this video open our time of worship:
-Aaron Loenhorst quoted Matthew 5:13-16 to us. That led into the teaching about being salt and light. We focused on open hearts, open hands and open mouths as seen in this vid:
-Tons o peeps last night. Thanks to those who came and brought friends! Always good to celebrate with you.
-Remember to sign up for camp, serving @ Cold Stone and come to Speak your Mind Sunday @845am in the GFC.
-Text jcxyouth to 41411 to receive updates about all things JCX Youth.

JCX Tuesday 11/10/09
So what is the difference was our focus Tuesday night @JCX. Here are the details:
-We spent most of the night walking through (literally) each of the belief systems that are around us and popular today.
-Each walk was a description, from that belief systems writings, what they believe about God, Jesus, salvation, faith and eternity.
-After our walk, the teaching focused on “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the sons of God”. We learned that it’s not our job to say “we’re right” and “you’re wrong” but that we are on “both sides”. Jesus came to quench the thirst of the soul, not argue which belief system is right. He quenches that thirst with the truth of who he is and what he does. We learned that he affirms the thirst we have and came to give it living water and keep us from filling it with all sorts of beliefs that lead to more thirst. We are the peacemakers who, b/c God met us in our badness; we meet others in theirs and speak about the one who satisfies our souls.
-Afterwards, we celebrated three of our peeps getting baptized. Here’s photos of the fun:

Congrats to M, M and J … that’s Mallory, Morgan and Jeneane

JCX Tuesday 11/3/09
Tuesday night thoughts:
-Started the night with Aaron Loenhorst quoting Ephesians 6:10-20 all from memory! Awesome job Aaron … does anyone recite scripture like Aaron? So passionate and fired up!
-We worshipped through song and danced together.
-We did something called “open space” where we sat in two circles (one circle inside another), face to face with each other and chatted about what a Christian truly is. Some great discussion
-The teaching focused on Colossians 3 (READ IT!) and how we are raised with Christ.
-D-groups were spectacular … in one of our newer groups we had three youth receive Christ as their Lord and in another group we had a time of worship through song! So great!
-Sheridan Martin and her baptism was the highlight of the night! Gil had the privilege of baptizing Sheridan (it was his first time baptizing someone) … here are some photos …

-Thanks for being a part of this night! And thanks for sharing it with us Sheridan!!
---Sunday … we’re continuing our discussion on “what would you write?” … come share your thoughts and discuss with us some big issues and how we see them through scripture.
---Sand bagging is happening again Sunday @ 1:30 … meet at YCC and Shaun will lead you up to the house where we will be working
---WINTER CAMP … RSVP today and get your deposit in … $100 deposit … Jan 15th-18th
