This has been an awesome week:
-Sunday: Jeff (we call him Chuck) led us through Matthew chapter 6 verse by verse. We read it out loud and he commented on each of the verses. Also, the youth shared their questions and thoughts. Very cool morning. We meet every Sunday @9:30a in the GFC room.
-Tuesday: We ate Subway for free and spoke from our hearts. Each youth had the opportunity to ask any question that was stirring in their hearts and heads. We talked about some great stuff. We covered suicide, addiction, how does God display who He is to us, why I share my story and more. I was so thankful to each person who texted in a question. We will do that again soon! We meet every Tuesday night @6:30pm in the multipurpose room.
-The GOOD: Sunday and Tuesday was so great because our senior, juniors, sophomores and freshman really stepped up and led well. Our graduates were/are incredible leaders but we have already seen new leaders rise up. Super neat!
-The BAD: We missed are grads but we know they will do well! They can now attend our college group. We meet every Sunday night @8pm in the GFC room.
-This Sunday: We will finish Matthew chapter 6. Chuck will be leading us and I’m sure we’ll learn some great stuff about our Lord, how to live for him and how to love one another.
-This Tuesday: Parents bugging ya? Hard to deal with? Allow us to help! Tuesday night we begin something called “How to Raise your Parents.” Invite someone and join us Tuesday.

The first day of the "S" word
The first day for YHS is tomorrow … so how about a list of the “MUSTS” for the first day of school?
You MUST:
-Set your alarm
-Get dressed … definitely a MUST
-Brush your teeth
-Make a NEW friend
-Ask “how many days of school do we have until Christmas?”
-Laugh about something you did this summer
-If you’re a Sophomore … thank the Lord you’re not a Freshman!
-If you’re a Senior … chant your grad year numbers every time you enter class … you’re the class or 2012 in case you forgot!
-Pray together
-Eat together
-Do homework together
-Plan on coming Sunday together
-Invite others to come with you … together
-Share about Tuesday night together … and with someone else.
-Love Jesus, love people … together.
Remember JCX peeps … next Tuesday we will be eating together. A free sandwich from Subway, a drink and some chips.
Enjoy your first day of school! Seniors … enjoy your first, last day of school.

The 2011 Grads ...
Last night we said goodbye to our grads! Some thoughts on that:
THIS GROUP:
-Most of these crazy kids have been with me since 7th grade. They’re like my little brothers and sisters.
BEST MEMORY:
-It was this group of grads that created most of the dances to the worship songs we sing. I’ll never forget Seth Hunt and his “Free to Run” dance at Winter Camp two years ago.
WHAT I’LL MISS MOST:
-Whenever there was anything going on … service projects, pool parties, cleaning up, feeding people, gathering clothes … whatever the need … it was this class that always showed up to help.
WHAT I LEARNED FROM THEM:
-This group taught me how to be creative. For example: Vanessa Clifford wanted to raise money for Rapha House … her idea … friendship bracelets. Who would have thought that making bracelets would eventually raise over $1,000 dollars for Rapha! I loved that nothing was too great for this group to accomplish.
-AND NOW WHAT:
-My hope is that their passion, excitement and love for Jesus will overflow into our college group (Refresh … Sunday nights … 8pm.) Most of the grads will be staying local. I hope to continue to see them involved, serving and changing their worlds. For those moving away … that’s dumb! HA! Love ya, mean it … Mighty Mike.
